The Country Cottage kitchen
This cottage kitchen is simple, elegant and timeless with clean lines and enhanced durability. It is a small north-facing room and so it was essential to maximise on light and create a spacious look. We achieved this by minimising the number of wall cabinets, using a light shade of paint and introducing clever storage solutions to minimise clutter. The eco bin was designed to create neat storage for recycling and provide additional worktop space.
Hand-painted in Wimborne White from Farrow & Ball, it is a freestanding kitchen with kick boards for hygiene purposes, and it features an integrated vegetable rack cupboard, bi-fold pantry doors, a wall-mounted plate rack and a built-in dishwasher.
The Garden Galley Kitchen
Adapting Shaker traditions for this long, narrow galley kitchen, the customer wanted a contemporary design that incorporated traditional cabinetry with a link directly into the garden. To accentuate the light and airy feel, wall units were eschewed, relying solely on base units complete with an oak worktop into which drainer grooves have been carved.
The freestanding cabinets feature a double butler sink, and are hand-painted in Pearl 169 from The Little Greene Paint Company. They include integrated fridge and freezer, storage for large vegetable baskets and an integrated oak-fronted wine rack. There is also a reclaimed pine shelf sealed with briwax and mounted on cast Victorian hinges.
A classic oak sideboard
This dining sideboard was designed for a busy family that required storage and functionality. The customer wanted to incorporate locally sourced handmade tiles. This is furniture that truly stands the test of time, thanks to traditionally hung in-frame doors, and an inlaid granite top for hot plates and serving food.
Time-honoured oak kitchen
A calm environment was desired for this truly unique kitchen. The available space had to be utilised effectively because of an unusually-shaped room which links to the garden room. The Derbyshire limestone worktop instils a natural look and individuality to the kitchen, as do the cabinets which feature traditional hand-moulding. There is a rounded end post to create the illusion of space and for ease of passage, a bank of drawers and a cabinet that houses a built-in washing machine.
An elegant storage solution
This stunning open shelving unit uses traditional joinery principles and techniques in a modern setting. It’s a special piece of furniture, with the customer requiring the freedom to adapt the capacity of the unit according to their ever-changing needs. To fulfil this, the height of the shelves is adjustable, there is space for storage as well as display facilities, and there is a lockable cabinet.
